Nikki Coome's past jobs
Co-ordinator of the high energy, fun but focused 4 Networking meeting in Reading.
IT Programme Manager for the Atlas Programme seeking to tranform the website, replace the legacy back end platform and operational systems as well as tranistioning all the data. This programme was the single biggest investment within Hitachi in the last 10 years. I set up and co-ordinated 3 projects, spanning multiple sites, together with third parties. Utilising the appropriate change methodology associated with each project. Agile front end and traditional Waterfall back end development.
I joined the Digital Transformation Portfolio as Senior Project Manager, turning around a troubled project that delivered new online savings origination journeys. I ensured that project controls were put in place and critical business success factors met. Prior to project completion, additional products were identified for similar treatment. I identified cross programme synergies with a similar, new customer acquisition programme and successfully managed the consolidation. I worked with architects to identify a revised solution and created a more robust, slim-lined programme structure to realise budget savings. During my time in Digital Originations, I also welcomed the opportunity to step into an interim role as manager of a programme that identified the five year, all channel, all product, strategic roadmap. The programme utilised Service Design methodology, which was new to Nationwide. I initiated the programme governance and worked with senior stakeholders to identify funding opportunities, before successfully gaining business case approval, agreeing third party statements of work and handing the programme over to a permanent manager. PRIDE award: ‘’The whole of the programme team would like to award Nikki Coome for this PRIDE award. Nikki leads the team with humour and compassion and inspires trust across the whole team as well as stakeholders. Nikki inspires us to deliver results across our range of projects. She supports us all by maintaining a careful eye across the programme, to allow us to tackle our day to day jobs. By doing this Nikki exceeds expectations and is always happy to help and offer advice and guidance. A very big thank you.’’
Initially engaged to initiate a high profile project to satisfy the European Banking Authority’s regulatory requirements to provide both Common Reporting (COREP) and Financial Reporting (FINREP). Mobilised a team of project team, together with both financial capital management and information management suppliers to interpret, analyse and source the necessary reporting data. I was then retained by Nationwide to manage two projects concurrently. The first ensured business wide compliance resulting from the change of regulator, from the Financial Services Authority (FSA) to the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA). • I provided structure and logical processes to ensure full organisation coverage and co-ordination of changes across all departments, engaging multiple stakeholders. • I managed complexities around dependency and risk management. Ensured a feasible and appropriate governance structure to enable adhere to changes in regulatory powers. • I created a delivery schedule co-ordinating across a large number of business areas. The second established the feasibility of adherence to the Personal Data Retention rules across the customer database and dependant systems. • Established approach options, to ensure maximum benefit within tight budgetary constraints. • Set up multiple Work-streams to ensure focus, prioritisation, clear objectives and critical success factors.
My previous role as Senior Project Manager expanded to encompass a Commercial focused Programme of Risk and Regulatory Reporting projects. My contract was extended and role enhanced to Portfolio Manager. Latterly I managed three programmes of delivery, encompassing: • Commercials involvement in wholesale risk system changes • Commercial focused risk data migration • Initial and analysis and feasibility of the strategic 2012 portfolio I created the appropriate team structure for the growing portfolio, increasing the team from two to twenty two, whilst ensuring suitable cover and empowerment. Introduced consistent standards of reporting, budget tracking, governance forums and committees. Fully supported all team members and coached where required.
Initially contracted as a Senior Project Manager within Lloyds Banking Group, Commercial Division to lead the Commercial Portfolio within a strategic, wholesale wide programme spanning multiple transformational and Basel regulatory projects.
Working within the IT Change Delivery Business Unit of Barclaycards Secured Lending Division as Risk and Impairment Programme Manager. I initially led a programme replacing the existing Collections and Recoveries platform with a new multi-layer, configurable Debt Manager system. Delivering the project within budget and within eight months of business case approval. The programme was delivered so efficiently that I was asked to roll out the systems and upgrade the infrastructure into an additional Barclaycard business, Barclays Partner Finance. Accountable for programme governance and control, including business case development, budgetary control, risk assessments, change control, Sarbanes Oxley audit attestations and project escalation within Barclaycard. Award Received: Nikki has lead the Alba programme in an exemplary way. Not only has she delivered the programme on time, she has demonstrated some great leadership traits in doing so. This programme involved multiple areas of the wider Barclays Group and Nikki showed great networking abilities in bringing together a complex implementation across multiple operational teams in the bank. Nikki took ownership of the programme and 'from the front’. She also received great feedback from key stakeholders demonstrating her great ability to 'work together’. The implementation plans and detailed data migration plans, combined with the well thought out Dress Rehearsals were key factors in the successful 'Go Live' event and demonstrated Nikki's ability to 'think ahead'. Nikki has also shown that she is keen to celebrate the successes and that colleagues are recognised accordingly, thus 'loving success'
Approached whilst in my previous role to move into the IT Change Delivery Business Unit of Barclaycard Secured Lending Division, known as Firstplus. I utilised prior e-commerce based knowledge to lead a project team of change professionals, subject matter experts and third party agile designers and developers to deliver a new company sales website and back end contacts database. Subsequently managed system upgrades and process re-engineering to enable the successful introduction of a subsidiary company, within challenging timescales. Following successful implementation, I transferred to the Regulatory and Compliance Programme as a ‘safe pair of hands’ to deliver a Consumer Credit Act 3 compliant loan servicing system within six months.
Employed as a Project Manager within the Strategic Change Management business unit of LloydsTSB Insurance. Turned around a project that was failing to meet stakeholder expectations, where budgets were out of control. I implemented tight governance and controls to ensure a successful re-plan and implemented a new Home Insurance website. Once the Insurance site was implemented and supported through warranty, I moved onto a project working with Agile Consultants, Thought Works through initiation of a large platform rebuild programme. Successfully completed the new supplier selection process for a software build partner, before leaving to join Barclaycard.
I started my career as an RPG programmer. After eighteen months, I was promoted to Project Leader. Successfully managed a number of small projects and defect releases across numerous customers with conflicting priorities. Ensured a positive customer experience and managed expectations throughout.
