Leading projects related with Splittera, one of ERA's proprietary technologies which consists of 4 different pairs of inteins. One of the projects is MABTOX, an european project with the aim of producing site-specific conjugated antibody drug conjugates (ADCs). Split inteins are proteins capable of joining peptides, proteins and/or other kind of molecules through a peptide bond. They are extremely versatile. Among their applications there is protein labeling (N and C-terminus of your protein of interest), protein purification and cleavage, expression of toxic proteins, site-specific conjugation of antibody drug conjugates (ADCs), production of cyclic peptides and circular proteins or generation of cyclic peptides libraries.
