- Build and maintain key relationships with the Africa Union Commission, The UN Economic Commission for Africa, Ethiopian government and ambassadors accredited to the African Union for influencing pro-poor policy norms at the Africa Union; -Advocate for ONE’s policy interests in Africa and more specifically at the African Union, engaging with government and ambassadors accredited to the African Union and providing policy research and analysis on specific issues such as economic development and opportunities, global health, gender equality, education, agriculture and nutrition, and transparency and accountability; - Prepare, or work with other team members to prepare, documents on specific policy issues, including briefing papers, policy analysis, campaign activities, blog posts, talking points and press releases for key workstreams. -D raft, edit and supervise the translation of documents for use with stakeholders including ONE’s global policy reports, position papers, policy briefings and other relevant documents. - Ensure a constant monitoring of key political decision makers and political processes as well as of reports relevant to ONE’s goals. - Draw on and liaise with ONE’s global teams as required to ensure AU policy and advocacy positions are represented in global discussions. - Provide general fact-checking and policy assistance as needed by the policy team and others within the organization; - Liaise with partners and ensure ONE’s goals are represented in general discussions, joint policy analysis or advocacy tools; - Represent ONE at meetings and conferences on specific policy topics, as needed.
