I was proud to serve on the Zimmer team where I worked as an Engineering Manager developing and driving effective lean manufacturing processes for the company. Specific achievements include: created new SOP’s and process validations for machining, cleaning, and deburring equipment, generated capital appropriation requests during the equipment procurement process, performed supplier validations for heat treating, anodizing, electro-polishing, cleaning, and passivation processes, oversaw the Installation, Operation, and Process Performance Qualifications, and continually ensured regulatory compliance with the FDA, cGMP, ISO 13485, OSHA, and EPA. Significant contributions include: ☑ Achieved Six Sigma Green Belt certification during employment in order to implement lean manufacturing principles and save a significant amount of time and money for the company I was additionally in charge of managing a Six Sigma team of 6 to resolve ongoing issues for the company. ☑ Key team player in the improvement of a deburring process which led to the successful reduction of 700K parts, 12 staff members, and significant savings.
I was brought into Rain Bird to serve in an internship role and was able to gain a foundation as a professional Engineer. I was hired full-time after 6 months due to exceptional performance and my ability to learn quickly. I mainly focused on system and process development for in-house label printing, created high-volume product packaging carton design, and assisted Manufacturing Engineers in the installation of production cells. Accomplishments include: improving production times and labor costs by performing time studies, purchasing flow improvement equipment, developing new databases and SOP’s, and analyzing Potential Failure Mode and Effects Analysis for automated equipment.
