My time within Eurocell has been both informative and realistic in terms of experiencing and developing within the financial sector of a large manufacturing business. This role involves basic administrative tasks, which include logging calls and performing tasks that are designated from internal employees. It is part of my job role to source a suitable solution within a tight timescale and deliver the solution back to the employee. I am fully conversant with the use of PowerPoint, Excel and the financial system known as SAP. I have quickly gained knowledge and experience in the operation of SAP and this includes placing requisition orders, viewing, and changing purchase orders and changing internal costings to meet budget requirements. I process and create new vendors daily which includes ensuring that the vendor is fully aware of the requirements that the business has, and it is explained that we may require authentication of the following documents from them: ISO9001 Quality Management Grade, Modern Slavery statement and any other accreditations such as REACH - This is the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals, this policy is only applicable to those suppliers we source raw materials from. It is a requirement of the job role that I am fully conversant with the vehicle fleet. This includes updating the P11D information for our drivers & ensuring this is up to date. I provide management of the vehicles, which includes obtaining quotations for new vehicles and managing the insurance requirements. An example of this is to compile information relating to an incident or accident that may occur and liaising with the appropriate third-party agency (Solicitors). I am also directly responsible for the procuring of the bulk fuel & fuel cards; this is executed by utilising a variety of tenders through a variation of resources.
Within this position, there were many sub-roles as Procurement Administrator. I was tasked with organising the research, procurement, delivery and finally the setting up of new equipment as requested. As an apprentice, I was working towards my administrative NVQ Level 2 qualification as I have always enjoyed business related tasks such as purchasing, invoices, spreadsheet creation, file management, etc. This role was not a permanent position but I did gain extensive knowledge relating to procedures, which were vital to the procurement and management of files within the college. This was a role that I grew in to and I achieved a large amount of personal growth in the months that I was in the placement. My skills in teamwork, problem solving and time management have been tested and expanded so that I was able to integrate myself into the college procedures and systems with confidence. Part of this role was to communicate directly with third party companies in order to achieve personalised relationships between the college and various external suppliers. I achieved excellent personal relations with suppliers and this resulted in reduced quotation prices, as well as express delivery for no extra charge. By maintaining excellent personal relationships with supplier’s we were able to expand our range of equipment as well as receive the equipment in a more timely and cost effective manner. Within this role, i was accredited a NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration.
