Patricia Inonge Mweene

Contributing to the development of skills and competencies needed to develop Africa is one of my passions. I want to see extractive mining communities develop using their natural resources and not aid. This is the foundation of my entrepreneurship journey. I founded INONGE ZITA jewellery, a for-profit social enterprise that is committed to creating employment opportunities for gem-cutters and jewellers not just in my home country of Zambia but across Africa. In partnership with local civil society organizations and business partners, we are working on creating resource value chains in extractive communities for developing skills and competencies for sustainable job creation in Africa. I believe in giving back by using my skills to mentor young people in Zambia and guide them in how to use natural resources to chart a future based on trade and not AID with the rest of the world.
