The role of Chief Fire & Security Officer at Ireland West Airport Knock is a busy one! There is great job satification as my duties are varied and intersting. Some of my duties are to: • Initiate and develop strategic and operational plans with associated budgets for approval by the Operations Manager and execute them within the parameters laid down and consistent with the airport’s strategic, development and master plans. Manage and monitor the implementation of these plans. • Provide advice to senior management in relation to the emergency services implications of planned developments at the airport. • Provide advice and support to the Airport’s Security Committee. • Represent the airport on all industry, local, regional and national emergency services forums dealing with emergency and related services. • Liaise with the Department of Equality, Justice and Law, the Department of Transport, the Courts and the Gardaí authorities in relation to the development and provision of bye-law policies at the airport. • Liaise with all relevant Local Authorities to ensure our compliance with their individual Emergency Planning directives. • Research, plan and prepare proposals for approval relevant to procurement of capital expenditure, services contracts etc. • Ensure that all emergency services documentation (manuals, documents and records) required for company, statutory or regulatory requirements is maintained and that appropriate document control, storage and retrieval systems are implemented. • Day to day management of all aspects of the Fire and Security. • Ensure compliance with all relevant legal and statutory requirements including, ICAO Annex 14, Annex 17 and any other documents, directives or annexes. • Assist in the development of safe working procedures for all aspects of your operation and ensure that these are documented in the safety management system.
