In my current role at Avalara, I lead engineering initiatives for revenue-critical tax compliance platforms that power global enterprise customers. I manage a distributed team of engineers across India while collaborating closely with product, architecture, and executive leadership to deliver scalable SaaS solutions aligned with business growth. I played a key role in delivering the General Availability of the Avalara Tax Content (ATC) Retail platform for the US and Canada, enabling scalable multi-channel tax content distribution across enterprise retail ecosystems. As part of Avalara’s long-term technology strategy, I am currently leading the development of Content Studio – SST, BBM, the company’s next-generation global tax content management platform designed to modernize legacy compliance infrastructure and support expanding regulatory requirements worldwide. A significant part of my work has focused on strengthening platform reliability and operational efficiency. I consolidated fragmented tools and processes managing SST into a unified platform, reducing 11 manual touchpoints to near-end automation and decoupling downstream applications. This transformation reduced SST processing cost by 72% annually while optimizing cloud infrastructure for scalability and cost efficiency, resulting in a scalable, automation-ready platform that also enables future AI capabilities. I also drive AI-first engineering transformation within the organization and introduced automation solutions that improve engineering productivity, incident management, and operational visibility. Beyond engineering delivery, I actively contribute to organizational leadership and governance. I serve as the Presiding Officer of the POSH Internal Committee for India, ensuring compliance with statutory workplace governance requirements. I have also represented Avalara at global technology forums including Grace Hopper - US, Vista Women in Tech – US, and GHCI.

At 5Paisa Capital, I led technology delivery during one of the company’s most critical growth phases, reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the CTO and the broader IIFL Group leadership. My focus was on building a scalable technology organization capable of supporting the company’s rapidly expanding FinTech platform. During my tenure, I scaled the engineering organization from a small team into a much larger cross-functional group supporting multiple products across trading, lending, insurance, and investment services. I introduced structured engineering processes, modern CI/CD practices, and automated release governance frameworks that significantly improved delivery speed while maintaining high production stability. I had the opportunity to represent the technology organization during 5Paisa’s public listing on the NSE and BSE, ensuring that the platform remained stable and resilient during periods of extremely high trading volumes. Through focused engineering improvements and platform optimization, we were able to support rapid business expansion that drove substantial growth in both revenue and customer adoption. I also spearheaded the delivery of new digital lending platforms, including personal loans and RBI-regulated peer-to-peer lending solutions, enabling the organization to expand beyond brokerage services into diversified financial products. Additionally, I led integrations with major ecosystem partners such as GooglePay Spot, Paytm, and BillDesk to strengthen the platform’s digital payments infrastructure. One of my key accomplishments was turning around the company’s insurance vertical by enabling digital distribution capabilities and workflow automation for the sales organization. These initiatives helped transform the business from a loss-making segment into a revenue-generating unit while supporting a large digital sales workforce.

At Mastek, I worked on technology solutions for Capita, a leading UK-based services organization, contributing to the development and modernization of the SIMS (School Information Management System), which supports thousands of schools across the United Kingdom. Over time, I progressed from a hands-on engineering role to leading distributed teams as a Scrum Lead. In this capacity, I managed a team of engineers across India and the UK, ensuring smooth coordination across time zones while maintaining high delivery standards for critical education-sector platforms. My work involved both technical leadership and hands-on architecture contributions. I was responsible for translating functional requirements into scalable technical solutions, managing product backlogs, and ensuring that development efforts aligned with regulatory and product requirements in the UK education ecosystem. I also led modernization initiatives that introduced service-oriented architecture components and supported data migration programs aimed at improving the scalability and performance of legacy systems. Alongside engineering delivery, I helped strengthen Agile delivery practices by introducing structured sprint planning, backlog discipline, and data-driven retrospectives. These initiatives improved delivery predictability and team efficiency while maintaining high quality standards across releases. My contributions were recognized with the “Fire in the Belly” award for demonstrating strong ownership, commitment to delivery excellence, and leadership within distributed engineering teams.

I began my professional career at Bank of America Continuum India, where I worked on enterprise-scale financial technology platforms supporting global banking operations. During my tenure, I progressed from a software engineer to an Analyst role, gaining strong experience in building secure, high-performance applications for financial reconciliation and infrastructure management systems. My primary focus was on developing and enhancing web-based applications and business intelligence solutions that supported global financial controls and operational reporting. I worked extensively with technologies such as ASP.NET, C#, SQL Server, and Power BI to design solutions that improved financial transparency, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency. I contributed to the development of reconciliation systems that ensured the integrity of financial transactions across multiple banking platforms. These systems played a critical role in maintaining compliance and enabling accurate tracking of financial activity across global operations. In addition to application development, I also worked on database optimization and reporting frameworks, designing dashboards and analytics tools that helped operational teams monitor system performance and financial metrics more effectively. My role required close collaboration with cross-functional teams including infrastructure, operations, and business stakeholders to ensure that systems met both regulatory and operational requirements. This experience provided me with a strong foundation in enterprise-grade system design, financial data integrity, and large-scale platform reliability. As part of my professional growth at the organization, I was also selected for a business visit to the United States, where I collaborated with global teams and gained exposure to cross-border engineering practices and enterprise technology operations.
