Rachael Turquand

Data Entry requires me to be diligent and accurate in the information I am processing. This role has developed my analytical and proof reading abilities while simultaneously enhancing my time efficiency to a greater level. As Social Media Handler it is my responsibility to improve the content and engagement of all of our social media platforms including LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter and Facebook. This role has developed my Business to Business experience as business leads can be generated via social media posts. Due to this I work closely with the Managing Director and Account Manager to help transform social media engagement into new business, while creating content that captures our brand mantra and company ethos. Additionally, I have written articles for the 'News' section of Adetiq's website helping to promote the work we do.

This opportunity allowed me to develop my broadcast skills. During my time at BBC H&W my responsibilities included sourcing material and information, generating leads, finding contributors and writing cues. I produced work to a professional standard, using industry equipment that was aired throughout my time at the station, one of which was included in the mid-morning show with Malcom Boyden.

Working at Worcester News gave me the chance to experience the professional working environment for the first time. My responsibilities throughout this placement included: sourcing stories, researching, contacting contributors for comment, participating in meetings and writing and adapting news articles for varying platforms. During my placement several stories I wrote were published both online and in print.
