I joined the team in November 2021 to take the lead with Giacom’s online community – a brand new role for their fairly new platform, but it quickly transpired that there was a gap in our social media, so I now split my time between the two. I got straight to work with the strategies for both platforms and am thrilled with how far we’ve come in such a short space of time. In the first three months social experienced a big increase in reach, engagement and web traffic, and our follower count continues to grow. The online community is a place for IT professionals to share information, common challenges and solutions. My responsibilities here include content creation and ideas generation around campaigns and projects, along with the usual tasks that come with moderating an online forum. For social, I’m planning, creating, and scheduling posts and campaigns across three channels, along with all the usual monitoring and reporting. Importantly, my role as Community and Social Media Lead involves championing the community and our social media presence internally. To assist with this, I’ve formed a group of ambassadors with colleagues from other departments to help spot opportunities and shout about all the great work we’re doing. I help steer CSR across the business and have been actively involved in our work with Hull Children's University.
