I’ve risen through the ranks quite quickly at my current employer proving to myself if you work hard you can achieve a lot in a short period of time. I began as a product assistant and am now the Nobody Denim Product Developer. I specialise in womens and mens, denim and co-ordinates.
I've always considered myself a 'people person' easily able to strike up a conversation with anyone. My upbeat personality, reliability and diligent attitude allowed retail sales to be something that came quite naturally to me. I have enjoyed working in retail casually all through university and up until last year. Working as a part of a team is something that sales will teach you from the get go. As a part of a team you build momentum and become a driving force, which is hard to stop, allowing targets to be met and hit. Fashion retail has also helped give me a broad view of what people are buying into, trends they love or hate and price vs quality, and what they are willing to spend.
I was in 3rd year at University when I got the part time Design Assistant Role at Gripp Jeans . This initial position gave me a first hand look inside the fashion industry. I started with simple duties like sketching, technical drawings, trend, mood board research and development and sample cutting. I was so excited with this opportunity I was given, putting into practise things I'd been learning at Uni.
