Selected as an International Evaluator for Guineas 2nd Polio Outbreak Response Assessment (OBRA) to assess whether Guineas polio outbreak response activities were able to detect and interrupt all polio transmission. Global Health Security Agenda (GHSA) Technical Assistance: Reviewed proposals for implementation of Global Health Security Agenda (GHSA) activities in Guinea and served as a technical manager on one of CDC Guineas cooperative agreements, conducting technical reviews of work plans and site visits to monitor the implementation of funded activities.
Culturally adapted and oversaw the implementation of a U.S. evidence-based HIV intervention known as Becoming a responsible Teen (BART) a group education and behavioral skills training intervention designed to reduce risky sexual behavior and improve safer sex skills. Managed, cleaned and validated clinic assessment data from the Kigali Antiretroviral and Breastfeeding Assessment for the Elimination of HIV (Kabeho Study), an observational prospective cohort of 607 HIV-positive women on triple-drug ART. Coded and qualitatively analyzed transcripts from focus group discussions and in-depth interviews to assess the effectiveness and feasibility of universal ART for HIV-positive pregnant women (Option B+) coupled with infant feeding counseling on the HIV-free survival of HIV exposed infants.
Adapted and created HIV/AIDS case management, risk assessments and data collection tools in accordance with the Minnesota Department of Human Services HIV/AIDS Medical Case Management Standards. Coordinated support groups, facilitated community outreach activities, recruited participants for the HIV/AIDS Case Management Program and provided one-on-one counseling and support for up-to 50 patients with HIV/AIDS or at risk for HIV/AIDS.
