Rami Elghandour most recently served as Chairman and CEO of Arcellx (formerly NASDAQ: ACLX) — a biotechnology company developing transformative immunotherapies for cancer and autoimmune diseases — from January 2021 until its $7.8 billion acquisition by Gilead Sciences in 2026. Since joining in 2021, Rami transformed Arcellx from a small, early-stage startup into a leading, commercial-ready organization. During his tenure, he advanced anito-cel — the best therapeutic option developed for multiple myeloma — and drove a forty-three fold increase in value while raising $1B in private, public, and strategic funding. Underpinning Arcellx's success, Rami built a diverse, high performing team. Arcellx's leadership team was 60% female and 90% diverse. The Board of Directors was 50% female and 75% diverse. Technical roles were 47% female and 71% diverse. Leadership roles were 48% female, 67% diverse. And the whole company was 55% female and 77% diverse.
