Randy Cosby's past jobs
ClearVision, Inc. began life in 1995 as a tool that ClearVision's President, D. Randy Cosby, used in his consulting work. He created a web site that hosted useful files and other tools for getting online using Windows 3.1, and later Windows 95. Mr. Cosby registered a domain, netex.net (which domain now belongs to a totally unrelated organization), that he used for his site. It grew quickly in popularity. As Mr. Cosby's site then merged with InfoWest, a local ISP in the area where Mr. Cosby worked, all the while growing in popularity and usefulness. Now part of InfoWest, Mr. Cosby's web site was becoming something of a phenomenon, and it had a new domain, 32bit.com (which domain and site has since been acquired by another organization), a new look, and increased utility, serving as a resource index for thousands of freeware, shareware, and commercial downloadable programs for Windows 95, and later Windows 98, Windows ME, and Windows 2000. In April of 2000, now with two major web sites in operation, 32bit.com and devshed.com, the organization was split apart from InfoWest as a new separate company, named Developer Shed, Inc. Developer Shed, Inc. sold the 32bit.com domain and web site to another company. In Spring of 2003, Developer Shed, Inc. sold the devshed.com domain and site to another company. As part of the agreement, Developer Shed, Inc. had to change it's name. And thus Developer Shed, Inc. became ClearVision, Inc. in July of 2003.
