My current research focusses on HIV-1 vaccine design using recombinant HIV-1 Env proteins as part of the EAVI consortium and the EHVA consortium both funded by the Horizons 2020 european union. Adaptation of the HIV-1 vaccine strategies have resulted in a side project looking at SARS-CoV-2 vaccine development with various collaborators in the University of Oxford and the wider research community. Previously I worked on cell-to-cell spread of HIV-1 from T-cells to macrophages, resulting in a joint first author paper published in Cell, Host and Microbe. Alongside my research I am also responsible for the day-to-day running of the Sattentau lab which involves the induction and training of all new laboratory members; project management of students; ensuring the laboratory is compliant in terms of health and safety paperwork and liaising with departmental support staff to ensure the smooth running of the laboratory. I also manage the departmental containment level 3 laboratory for work on replication-competent HIV-1 and SARS-CoV-2. At the beginning of the Covid19 pandemic I was instrumental in commissioning the facility for SARS-CoV2 work and am responsible for the ongoing training of users and maintenance of the facility. I am currently co-chair of the laboratory managers association, a member of the Departmental Safety Committee and a member of the Departmental Green Group. Previously I was a member of the Departmental Athena Swan Committee and the Post-doc Association. https://sattentau.path.ox.ac.uk/content/dr-rebecca-moore https://www.research.ox.ac.uk/Researchers/rebecca-moore
