The project centres around the creation and operation of a hostel and community hub · The hub includes facilities for a school, workshop, tool shed, and computer lab · Vegetables will be grown in a variety of styles to demonstrate how to provide nutrition in challenging circumstances · Development of education and eco-tourism courses and activities for locals and visitors · On-going improvements in local facilities – sanitation, play area, library etc. Our mission is to develop a healthy, sustainable BGBJ lifestyle for the families that live around Bantar Gebang. We have several projects in the pipeline that we believe can generate income, good vibes and learning. Since providing day tours and home stay accommodation many people have visited this unique location. By visiting they have contributed to the growth of the project and taken part in a significant and meaningful cultural exchange. BGBJ has several components feeding into the various projects, including: * Sanggar Satu Untuk Semua * BGBJ Homestay * BGBJ Workshop * BGBJ Photography club * BGBJ Percussion band Our projects aim to fill the gap by providing satisfying, safe, and interesting work that will generate income for the individual participants but also make investments on behalf of the community in essential infrastructure like sanitation, affordable housing, food production, water purification, energy, roads, play areas and more.
As an Executive Director responsible for the overall organization programs’ plan and implementation focusing on women & children empowerment and protection in Bantar Gebang (the biggest dump site area in South East Asia). All programs are conducted using the community empowerment approach. One of the organization program is to empower Bentar Gebang’s women through waste management business. Also act as a facilitator for the organization, I have developed modules and conducted training not only women and children in the area, but also for related NGOs’ staff that have focus on waste management business.
