Riccardo Spadoni's past jobs
Responsable for Program Management, Product Development and Innovation applied to industrial tracked vehicles, leading an international organization of 70 engineers across 4 sites: Italy, Austria, Germany, Canada PLM deployment and implementation of engineering lifecycle path
Platform Director: within CNH Product Development, PM automates and manages through a single integrated enterprise (working with Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, Logistics, Engineering) all the facets of cluster lifecycle management, including initial deployment, change management, health monitoring, fault handling, root cause analysis, optimizing timing, cost and quality
Vehicle Integration is the organization within CNH Product Development that supervises Engineering Functions and guarantees technical integration and target achievement (performances, architectural, ergonomics, assembly, style, etc..). CNH European tractor products (from 50 to 250 Hp) are split in 5 platforms; each of them is supervised by a technical manager (Vehicle Integration Responsible - 5 based in Modena, Italy; special projects are managed in San Valentin, Austria). All of them reports to me •Responsible for vehicle specifications and design validation •Performance target management and setting •Responsible for virtual and physical validation; responsible for homologation •Coordinate Engineering budget (more than 45 Mil $/year in 2010) •Standardization of methods and processes across product lines (digital mock up, assembly/serviceability, performance simulations) •Guarantee technical documentation completeness; •Integrate and verify consistency of deliverables and timing with vehicle specifications for each Engineering Function (Engine Installation, Driveline, Electric & Electronics, Hydraulics, Cab) •Guarantee physical and functional integration (NVH, safety, packaging, ergonomics, performances and fuel consumption)
Head of Packaging Tractors and Harvesting Europe (together with VI Tractors EU): New vehicle architectures design and architectural target setting. Responsible for Engineering Design Release milestone, leading a team of 25 engineers at international level (Italy, England, Belgium, India, Turkey) that draft and verify assembly sequence according to manufacturing standards and drive design engineers towards targets of assembling/serviceability, reducing number of prototypes •Guarantee Architecture targets in terms of weight, cost and performances; •Drive Packaging team and lead integration process within Engineering Functions (CCs, Style, FPT, Manufacturing, Quality, After Sales, tech-pubs) with the goal to identify and solve all interface conflicts at vehicle level, implementing the best packaging trade-off in terms of safety, assembling, serviceability, aesthetic, costs, etc…; •Propose modifications to identify the best trade-off •Improve solutions/parts standardization cross product lines •Guarantee the correct information flow cross CCs leading dedicated reviews and through the availability of technical documentation Guarantee the consistency of both new parts and modifications with Architecture targets
definition, deployment and application of a new methodology for products development based on extensive usage of simulations (structural, vibration, noise, CFD, ergonomics, etc..) including virtual simulation of manufacturing process PLM deployment and engineering interface for new requirements
Support European tractor projects and PD sites (UK, Italy, Austria) through simulations aimed to reduce prototypes and optimize time to market, managing a team of three simulation specialists •Define simulation standards and procedures integrated in engineering/testing processes for structural analysis, hydraulic valves, engine cooling, air conditioning system, gearbox lubrication, cab noise, vibration, transmission driveline, vehicle digital mockup and virtual reality •Define Virtual Room requirement, equipment and standards within CNH and lead Burr Ridge, Zedelgem and Modena VR suites in order to project in scale 1:1 CNH products
My responsabilities include CFD simulations of engine cooling system performances, hydraulic circuit and components, air conditioning
Define advanced methodologies to simulate steady and unsteady phenomena such as engine cooling system performances, combustion in internal combustion engine, HVAC
