Led the transformation of IT at Kent Reliance from an underinvested, loss making Building Society to a platform supporting a successful FTSE250 business, delivering £300m+ net income by 2020, with systems managing c£20bn of assets. Awarded “Sunday Times Top100 Companies to Work for” since 2018. Managing multiple change programmes in a business regularly running 40+ projects concurrently. Many projects have been large scale and highly complex, including mortgage and saving system migrations with over 100,000 users and £billions of assets transferred to new servicing platforms. IT Strategy development has included the creation of an online savings platform at OSB. The strategy has involved replacing multiple platforms where needed to modernise and scale the Bank as part of overall business transformation programmes. This requires managing annual IT budgets of over £10m. Most recently I have been immersed in merger due diligence and the integration of OSB with CCFS.
Interim Director: IT, Project/Programme management, Transaction management. At Morgan Stanley we managed the divestment of subsidiary Banks and portfolios across UK, Italy and Russia, including the migration of multiple portfolios to 3rd party acquirers.
MoneyPartners was a greenfield startup which launched within 4 months, grew to originate over £3bn of UK mortgages and was acquired by Kensington (Investec) and subsequently Goldman Sachs in 2007. I was the IT Director and part of the Executive Committee from the formation of the Company. IT Strategy development included building award winning digital platforms for Mortgage Originations, in a highly competitive market that required fully automated decisioning, integrating credit bureaus and valuations.
As CIO and part of the Executive Committee, we completed multiple acquisitions, integrations, restructuring and disposals. GE was a highly acquisitive business, including acquiring First National Bank in the UK and forming GE Money. In each case, I led integration projects to maintain common trading platforms across the group. Responsible for 100+ staff in a business of 1600 users IT Strategy development included award winning digital platforms for Mortgage Originations
I was employee #7 in the business which became iGroup via an MBO and was sold to General Electric in 2001 for £200m IT Director for igroup and IT manager in preceeding companies (the company grew via significant acquisitions and organic growth and in the process was acquired twice by US institutions). Participated in an MBO in 1999 which subsequently resulted in the sale to GE in 2001, whereupon I was appointed CIO.
