Robert De Groot

Robert de Groot takes a vision and makes it a reality through sound strategy development. He intuitively sees the threads of opportunity that wind through an organization, brings them together into a coherent whole, helping others extend their thinking, and drives business innovation. He builds trust and is able to broker these relationships and alliances, motivating all parties towards a concentric and co-beneficial endeavor. In 2017, Robert was appointed to the position of Senior Vice President, forging ever-strengthening relationships with his team and the Class I Rail Roads. During this time, Robert spearheaded an opportunity for Trinity to reignite their involvement in the recertification of Auto Racks. Robert led the strategic internal challenge at Trinity, bringing various departments together in order to analyze the risk and potential reward of such an enormous undertaking. After months of multi-channeled efforts, 2017 saw the evolution of the Autorack Service Center in Cartersville, GA. Previous years offered Robert the chance to bring highly creative leasing and exchange opportunities to Trinity. In 2013, he sat on the Trinity Continuous Improvement Committee Board. He also was a key contributor to TrinityRail’s New Products Market launch, and continues to promote Trinity by enabling innovation. With 18 years of a strong foundation in research and development at Ellcon-National, coupled with extensive experience as their Field Service and Sales representative, Robert’s knowledge of railcar designs, functions and benefits enhances his innate ability to serve all.
