Between 2014 and 2019, we have conducted over 500 searches. We have filled 97% of these searches (excluding any searches cancelled by our clients for reasons out of Reilly Partners’ control). Over the same period, 47% of these placements have been women and/or people of diversity. 65% of our placements have been promoted to a new role within the corporation within 18 months. Relationships are what it is all about. Effective executive search is not transactional. By making connections and developing our long-term relationships, I am able to genuinely understand my client’s culture and their needs. Given the opportunity to work with them, it becomes very simple. Performance is what corporate America is all about, and once we are in the door, we tend to stay there. We have completed 191 searches with one client alone, and 50-90 searches for another three clients. Loyalty is a two-way street, and our clients understand our commitment. There are some years we will be busy and others that are slower, but I believe it is prudent to be patient and stay devoted to our clients, rather than run off and try to secure work with one of their competitors. 90% of our work is repeat business. We put loyalty and trust at the forefront when building relationships with our clients. Board of Director search work is the level most recruiters want to achieve. It is challenging for various reasons. Over the last couple of years, activist shareholders have driven a significant amount of board work to Reilly Partners. Activists can demand many things from a corporation. Over the last couple of years, we have filled three Board of Director seats on behalf of two clients, each being completed in just under 20 days, a true full court press. In all three situations, the final candidate was unknown to our client and Reilly Partners prior to undertaking the search.
