The Motor Trades Association of Queensland (MTA Queensland) is the peak body representing the interests of the automotive industry in Queensland, including nearly 15,500 businesses, which employ more than 90,000 people working in businesses such as car dealerships, mechanical workshops, smash repairers and service stations. Core services include: • workplace services including industrial relations and business advice • training of the next generation of automotive experts through the MTA Institute • industry information and advice • networking events for industry.

As the founder, Rod has been leading significant organisational change for the majority of his career and has operated at the executive and CEO level for over 25 years and has developed expertise in the leadership of transformational change. He has a unique range of CEO level experience in leading Government agencies, Statutory Bodies, Government Owned Corporations and private sector organisations. This experience encompasses developing, leading and advocating public policy change from the perspective of government, the private sector and a national research organisation. He also has significant experience in leading the reform and reinvigoration of organisations. Mmacdor offers high level strategic advice, specialising in Tertiary education policy and evaluation, trends and opportunities, funding opportunities and growth, Market and demand analysis, Organisational performance reviews, Regulatory policy and review, Restructure and realignment of organisations, including workforce analysis, Industry and stakeholder engagement, Tuition assurance policy and practice and Project management. Rod’s experience is demonstrated through his selection on key economic, policy and reform bodies including the National Resources Sector Taskforce, the Queensland Premier's Jobs Squad and other ministerial and industry taskforces. He was the sole VET representative appointed to the G20 Human Capital Taskforce and was appointed to the current Commonwealth Ministerial Expert Panel of VET Reform, and was a member of the Ministerial Advisory Council for Skilled Migration and the National VET CEOs’ Committee. In 2017 he was identified as one of the National top 10 influential people in the VET sector.Policy skills, data analytics, strategic thinking, strategy and accountability have all been critical to success.
