I'm responsible for leading marketing function of Philips Health Systems in India, along with heading Branding, Communication and Media for Philips Health Tech Business in ISC (Indian Subcontinent region).
As Head of Trade & Shopper Marketing for Philips Personal Health business for ISC, I was responsible to drive higher extraction from trade partners & shoppers. Responsibilities included defining, designing and delivering engaging shopper platforms, supporting new launches / re-launches / re-introductions / new communication / activation, driving efficiencies in manpower management, ensuring optimal return on investments, and bringing alive our categories and brand experiences across channels.
In this role I was responsible for conceptualizing, creating and launching winning product propositions for Indian and Bangladesh markets, for GSK Food and HFDs (Health Food Drinks) businesses. It also included driving sales of innovations by building a robust GTM approach, trade support drives, consumer and customer activations, and build measurable mechanisms for evaluation.
Here I managed customer strategy and shopper execution of Health Food Drinks portfolio (annual business turnover ~$500mn). The responsibilities included end-to-end development and execution of consumer promotions, trade & shopper market strategies (both above and below the line), scaling -up customized channel programs, and driving product access through value packs and formats.
In this role I lead the sales business for Karnataka (in key towns of Bangalore, Mysore and Mangalore), and was tasked to deliver and grow annual business in excess of $18mn. My market emerged as the largest and the fastest growing market for Britannia Industries between 2009 and 2010.
In this exciting role I managed India’s largest Health-Biscuit brand, NutriChoice...which included brand repositioning, re-launch, 4 successful innovations, CAGR of 50%+, and highest profitability. This role built my marketing narrative, taught me the essentials of customer journey, relevance of delivering truthful and meaningful propositions, media selection, role of packaging, and then the two most important lessons of professional and personal growth... no job is too small, and Yes, everything existing can be challenged and changed for the better.
