Technical director responsible for Water &Wastewater treatment and development projects, from initial design to execution. During this period, I was in charge of setting up a new technical department of five people under my direct responsibility in order to accomodate a higher number of tendering proposal requests and won EPC contracts for demanding clients. I also assisted in the creation of a Production department, and through our in-house manufacturing facilities we manufactured many of our plants. This gave me a profound knowledge about manufacturing procedures in metallic and plastic components, and valuable insights towards optimum team management practices for on-time execution. This highly multidisciplinary position provided me with a clear view as to what is really required to achieve effective and resilient water and wastewater treatment proposals and subsequent installations, as well as an ability to identify Client's needs and priorities. With particular expertise in MBR technology, UF and RO applications, I was technical spokesman for external consultancies and presentation of strategic tenders. In less than 6 years, IntegraWater became one of the largest MBR promoters in Europe, being compared to companies with much larger business trajectory. I was directly responsible for the conception, design and execution of some of the largest MBR WWTPs in Europe. Also responsible for identification and development of new technical solutions, adding value to the company's portfolio. Deeply involved with the Business Development department activities.
Company co-founder. Process engineer and Project manager for Wastewater treatment plants for the municipal, industrial and leachate sector. In charge of tendering activities and maximum responsible for developing innovative WWTP solutions, with excellent track record in tertiary treatments, membrane bioreactor (MBR) technology and compact plants. We managed to accomplish a good reputation as independent MBR consultants for both Private and Public sector, with which we often teamed up to produce innovative and cost-effective plant designs. My roles included all the initial and intermediate steps from initial plant conception and process design stage (P&ID, process calcs, CAPEX/OPEX, etc) up to on-site project execution, plant commissioning and staff training. Also experienced in employing more conventional technologies (CAS,phys/chem,etc), I launched a series of compact plants aimed at the private sector export including technologies such MBR, UF and RO plants. Plants from 10 m3/d to >15 MLD. I also gave constant technical and commercial advisory to the Sales and Execution departments, as well as assisting in the development of sales material and strategic planning documentation for business expansion. I set the standard for the company's technical tendering material, which in short time assisted in increasing the sales from 0,5 to 4 million euros. In under 4 years, the company became one of largest MBR system integrators in Europe.
Wastewater applications & tendering engineer. Under exclusive representation of KUBOTA membrane technology, at the early stages of MBR in Europe, I was one the process engineers designing integrated solutions in this emerging market. Deeply involved in all technical collaborations with worldwide engineering & EPC companies and partners, in both municipal and industrial markets. Experience from initial design activities (P&ID, process calcs, equipment design, costing, etc) up to commissioning stage (start-up, training, O&M, etc).
As part of the technical team for Sanitaire -Flygt division, I was Junior biological process designer (aeration systems, Sequencial Batch Reactors, pump design, system integration). In less than 2 years, I was made tendering responsible for Thames Water largest projects, liaising with their technical staff in order to optimise pumping and aeration costs. In close collaboration with sales team to accomplish targets in European countries, I also provided with CAD drawings for customized tenders. I was made co-responsible for quality control supervision for our manufacturing facilities in Spain, which distributed worldwide. I was trusted in representing the company abroad, presenting ITT Sanitaire tenders for biological processes in general.
