Kenono Foundation is registered under section 8 of the Companies Act 2013. Its headquarter is located in Chümoukedima Town, Nagaland. The organisation has its presence in the state of Nagaland, currently with a special focus on Tseminyu District. It has an outreach of over 21000 people and 3800 families. The goal of the organisation is to ensure community development projects have a self-sustaining component through business enterprise models. APPROACH To have an in-built revenue generation model in our enterprise projects to promote the concept of social business vis community development. HOW TO DO? Form partnerships with the communities in projects whereby Kenono Foundation will be: A service provider w.r.t. professional assistance to address critical areas of the enterprise project. An entity to raise fund to expand or pilot projects that has potential of emerging as a business enterprise. INCEPTION A COMMUNITY RESPONSE of the Rengma Naga Tribe to usher in a vision of collective ownership and responsibility for holistic community development in Nagaland and similar deprived regions. PRECEDENCE Kenono Foundation came about as a backdrop to Zunpha Multipurpose Cooperative Society Ltd. (ZMPCS) in order to broaden the organisational scope and approach to community development. ZPMCS is the key shareholder of Kenono Foundation. ZPMCS ltd. is a cooperative formed by the Rengma community in 1981 to initiate community development but revived in 2017-18.
