• Exploring various research and public engagement avenues and strategies to establish viable approaches towards managing and eliminating infectious diseases in Africa • Leading research and facilitating critical review of country policies on infectious diseases management, control and elimination in sub-Saharan Africa • Jointly secured a Wellcome Trust grant to host a two-day stakeholders’ symposium at the GET Conference held in Freetown, Sierra Leone in September 2018. • Initiating, leading and facilitating various research projects under the “Cultural, Anthropological, Social and Economic Impact” – CASE - Work Group • Planning and organizing annual conferences as a key public engagement strategy • Reviewing conference proceedings and abstracts for oral and poster presentations, hosting symposiums, coordinating workshops, and securing grants • Completed a book project, titled: “Socio Cultural Dimension of Emerging Infectious Diseases in Africa” to be published by Springer by end of 2018 • Developed inter-disciplinary, inter-institutional, and inter-sectoral research collaborations • Developed budget for a research project, negotiated research agreements and subcontracts to meet coordinating centre requirements, and implemented and maintained the research project budget • • Created financial projections and make adjustments to the research project budget throughout the fiscal year • Planning and coordinating all aspects of major research projects across multiple sites • Reviewing various research ethics and public engagement documents and strategies for health research
