PFN operates one of the largest fiber optic networks in the Upper Midwest spanning Michigan and portions of Wisconsin and Minnesota. It is also the top provider in the US of Next Generation 911 services throughout most of Michigan and now successfully entering Wisconsin. PFN continues to enjoy robust growth as it expands its reach and product offerings. In June 2023, the NTIA awarded PFN a $61M grant as part of an almost $90M broadband project to deploy an undersea fiber optic network between Michigan and Chicago, and between the Upper and Lower Peninsulas of Michigan.
