Started out managing the web video engineering team, then expanded and changed scope to manage client media infrastructure for LinkedIn as well as video and image sharing. We work with our partner teams across the globe to build media AI features, improve video and image quality of experience, and make media easy to integrate throughout LinkedIn. Focused on our Live Video efforts, on our media creation capabilities, playback reliability, and the associated telemetry & monitoring.
I facilitated CSC 511 - Special Topics in Advanced Web Development, hosted at the LinkedIn office in New York City. Over the course of the semester, students created three individual web applications, and split into groups to complete a final team project. We leveraged the Ember.js web application development framework, and touched on various concepts and tools such as Accessibility, GraphQL, Chrome Developer Tools, and Automated Unit Testing. Engineers from LinkedIn also guest lectured on various topics including tech company culture, CSS, Testing, and their own journey into engineering.
Built the first pilot video experience on the LinkedIn (via LinkedIn Record), and helped launch video sharing. Helped build out the native video experience and set direction for the initial web player integration.
Transitioned to the Growth team. Maintained and enhanced the People You May Know page, as well as Address Book Import functionality with mobile web in mind. Ran a cross-stack project to remove and decouple legacy code from the flows before the transition to the latest site experience. Moved from San Francisco Bay Area to New York City in January 2016 to start on the newly formed Video Team.
Launched member-to-member blocking, and worked on a horizontal team building and maintaining UI libraries for LinkedIn web products.
