Engineering is responsible for new product development from cradle to grave. Built a team of 4 engineers, 1 draftsman and 4 tool room technicians in the design, development and launch of office and graphics arts product. Most prototyping is done in-house. Launch responsibilities include packaging, tooling, line layouts, fixturing and production personnel training. Engineering continues to support production lines and fabrication by being on call with any production or tooling issues. Further, returns are analyzed for improvements.
Lived in Taiwan for 3 years and traveled to China, managing available resources to develop and launch new product; solved production, shipping and QC problems; set and enforced QC standards; and reduced costs. Available resources include Boston, U.K. and external engineering, marketing and customer service staffs, factory engineering, vendor engineering, as well as internal and external QC staff.
Extensive travel to China and Taiwan, interacting with vendors during design and manufacturing. Concurrent design and development with Miami and Taiwan in-house Industrial Design Staff. Traveled to and interacted with Formula's clientele for the purpose of product development, customer relations, instruction, and Sales Staff support.
