Research topic involved a patented carbon fiber-composite braided technology for a NASA study. Primary area of research focused on experimental mechanical-characterization of pre-preg carbon/glass fiber yarns and composite lattice structures for Buckling, Compression loading, Modal Analysis and validation through Finite Element Analysis. Research also involved, yarn and composite structure manufacturing by braiding process, design and manufacture of test fixtures, assessment of physical attributes/properties through CT scans and optical microscopy.
Tools Used: SolidWorks, CATIA, 3D Printing, Machining As part of the Equipment Engineering team, I was trusted with responsibilities to independently design and develop several prototype fixtures/adapters that help the associates perform their duties with ease and thus, help build great cars! ⚙️ Led a group of automotive enthusiasts to start the student chapter of Society of Automotive Engineers at the CoE and develop NMIT's first Formula car. ⚙️ Educate and encourage student members to participate in various SAE competitions, and now the current members have expanded to global participation.
