Responsible for maintaining, implementing and auditing 7 management systems across service areas in the directorate (BS EN ISO 9001, OHSAS 18000, BS EN ISO 14001, FSC – Chain of Custody, The Law Society – Lexcel, The Cabinet Office - Customer Service Excellence). As part of a small team of internal IIP (investor in people) reviewers, led audits and created high level reports on organisational standard to meet corporate requirements.
Overseen all quality aspects of manufacture of microcircuit hybrids, low volume highly customized units for military and aerospace and high volumes for the automotive industry. It entailed dealing with customer concessions, supplier issues and materials acceptance, manufacture and testing through to packing and dispatch of product. Implemented TS 16949 (automotive standard) throughout the whole organization Carried out internal audits for ISO 9000, TS 16949 and BS 9450 (military product).
• Amalgamated 3 separate BS EN ISO 9001: 1994 accreditations (electrical design, electrical refurbishment, fabrication) into a single QMS (accredited in summer 2000). • Implemented and managed 2 further 9001 accreditations for joint ventures on the same site. • Managed health and safety and environment for the organisation and met the required due diligence checks required for the selling of the firm in 2001.
• Scheduled quality audits were a routine responsibility as too the preparation of quality plans, the handling of customer complaints, manufacturing related non-conformances. • Spent 11 months as Acting Health and Safety Manager in the M.V. business unit (covering for maternity leave). • Non-routine work included the preparation of Standing Instructions, membership of Continuous Improvement Teams and implementation of BS EN ISO 14001 in the MV business unit.
