I was managing mLight operations in NSW. I was responsible for maintaining and developing business relationships with key stakeholders; including engineers, lighting designers, architects, interior designers, builders, electrical contractors, wholesalers and end users. My main accountabilities consisted of end-to end project management, from initial concept design to installation, after-sales support, ensuring our CRM database is up-to-date, as well as the management of the state budget and expenditures. Other responsibilities included sales forecasting and reporting, input into product development, strategy development and implementation. o Major projects I’ve managed include: - Ernst & Young - Deloitte - UWS Parramatta Square - University of Sydney
I was responsible for overseeing projects from quotation to completion, building bills of materials, liaising with clients, sales and production departments. My communication and people skills were key to this role, as it involved a great deal of customer service and constant contact with electrical wholesalers and contractors. Organisational skills and attention to detail were also critical, as small oversights could result in costly errors. I was also required to understand of technical documents and drawings.
Worked on various in-house projects: - Involved receiving a design brief and designing custom objects such as tooling cabinets using SolidWorks, using the available materials on-site - Gained understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes - Put together SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) manuals - Liaising with machine operators
Involved mainly mechanical design engineering using Unigraphics NX. - Resolving quality improvement reports and completing projects set for me. - Communication and teamwork with engineers and technicians on the factory floor. - Engineering drawings. - High level of problem solving abilities and innovation. - Time management and planning, as I working on multiple projects at once. There was a steep learning curve, as I had to familiarise myself very quickly with the products, company procedures and new software.
Casual labouring work while I was at Uni. - Demolitions (my favourite) - Installing kitchens - Painting - Living the glorious tradie lifestyle
Deliveries to older customers. - Delivering prescription medicine - Planning the quickest route - Dealing with difficult people
