This new role still include the functions of Asset Management but expanded to manage the liquidity of the company as a whole. As the Head of the Unit, I am responsible for day to day running of the Treasury operations, developing appropriate treasury policies and procedures as well as implementing these treasury policies and procedures adopted to achieve desired objectives of the company while ensuring the liquidity position of the company is at all times safe-guided to avoid the cash flow challenges which has the potential to result in reputation risk for not meeting obligations to clients. The role also includes the management of all the assets and liabilities of the company and ensuring all these assets and liabilities are properly recorded and accounted. The roles also includes the coordination and steering of Asset–Liability Committee (ALCO) of the company to ensure that all essential business units funding requirements are properly planned to avoid funding challenges with these business units. It also require the preparation of reports on timely basis for management to ensure that the necessary decision in the best interest of the company are taken at all times.
