Focusing on making LogicMonitor solve more monitoring problems, in an easier and more intuitive way. LogicMonitor is a software-as-a-service company headquartered in Santa Barbara, California. Our product provides customers a powerful, web-based tool to proactively manage critical entire technology infrastructures, applications and operations. LogicMonitor provides hosted monitoring of the entire technology stack -- networks, servers, applications, storage, and cloud — all from a single pane. LogicMonitor includes built-in monitoring, alerting, and graphing for all devices found in the data center. LogicMonitor greatly simplifies infrastructure monitoring via its agile developed, highly automated and easy to deploy and manage solution.
Founder of LogicMonitor - solves all the monitoring issues I've had in running large scale web sites, at every company I've worked at or consulted for.
Implementing scalable and maintainable solutions for customers in: * Internet routing (OSPF,BGP) * Datacenter design * System security * Unix/Linux administration/optimization * Storage subsystems (SAN, NFS, iSCSI) * Software development processes * DB administration (Oracle, Mysql, PostgreSQL, Informix,DB2, Microsoft SQL Server) * Monitoring * Software architecture and design to anticipate scaling * Load balancing (both local and globally distributed) * Application and database clustering * Disaster recovery/distributed fault tolerance
Note: Valueclick purchased Fastclick. Managed team that kept all the servers humming for all the divisions of Valueclick, including ensuring backup, DR, monitoring, etc. > 1000 servers, many datacenters, < 5 sysadmins, = lots of automation.
As we are a small company, being V.P. of network operations means I do everything to keep a 24 x 7 ASP service online at all times. So I deal with HVAC, programming load balancers, BGP peering, system administration. The real plus I've brought is getting really good people to work for me, so that we can run with a very minimal staff, and use lots of automation and intelligent monitoring. Again, lots of application architecture involvement to ensure systems scale over multiple systems and datacenters.
Managed 24 x 7 ASP operation. Oracle, networking, load balancers, systems administration, SAN, network management, etc... Quite a lot of involvement with the application architecting so it can scale in a distributed manner over multiple datacenters.
