As the Director of Network Operations, I also serve as the site leader for VIPRE Security's Burnaby B.C. location. I provide guidance, oversight, and general management to an office of approximately 30 employees which consists of our Development, QA, Product Management and Systems Operations teams. Whether it's chairing the events committee or managing the facilities, my main goal is to keep our employees happy, healthy, and motivated. Leading the global system and security operations for VIPRE Email Security I have created and continue to manage 3 successful sub-teams within Systems Operations; North American Systems Administration, European Systems Administration, and Site Reliability Engineering. Together we build, manage, maintain, and monitor the; 1000's of servers, 100's of services, in our 10 co-located facilities across North America and Europe. Reporting to the Director of Development and Network Operations I am responsible for managing a multinational system administration team with team members in Canada, United States and Ireland. We are responsible for the 24x7 operations of the FuseMail and Excel Micro environments which include email security, hosting, and SaaS distribution platforms spanning multiple data centers. The Systems Operations team is very DevOps focused and has a large scope of responsibilities ranging from responding to and resolving email delivery and security issues, to setting up and deploying new data centers and automating the deployment of 100's of servers. Together with the Ops team from our parent company, J2 Global, my Systems Operations team have integrated platforms and technologies from many mergers and acquisitions of companies around the world.
Reporting to the Director of Applications Operations, responsible for managing the Systems Administration team and Network Operations Center (NOC) team across multiple locations. The teams support, maintain, monitor and administer all of Move's systems. These systems, including all Dev/QA/Production environments total over 3000 servers and 1PB of storage.
Reporting to the VP of Software Development, responsible for managing the Release Engineering, Configuration Management and Performance Engineering teams. Managed both local and remote employees.
Reporting to the VP of Technology Operations, responsible for managing a team of system and database administrators who deploy, maintain and troubleshoot the Top Producer product suite.
Served as technical lead for the research department which was the highest level of customer escalation. The research team solved the 'unsolvable' issues. Responsibilities included: Resolving customer issues after 3 attempts by tech support, personal level of service for VIP customers, working with development to create custom hotfixes, remote support of complex network configurations, identifying and documenting previously unreported bugs.
