Many of our lives can be so full of unhealthy levels of financial, emotional, educational and communal stress that a substantial body of research categorizes over 60% of us are “at-risk”. In many instances, the harder we fight and try, the more at risk we become. These global statistics fly in the face of other globally accepted research that shows that the healthier we are, the better the outcomes for the loved one we care for. Therefore, as there are no cures in sight for many of the 8,000 chronic conditions and rare diseases found in the NORD database, better outcomes are the often best results we can hope for. To put this in perspective for America, 6 out of 10 adults have at least one chronic condition, and 4 out of 10 have 2. That means over 150,000,000 people require specialized help, products, treatments, and services that are generally very expensive and sometimes hard to access.
