Led as the head of engineering on the 3 product lines in the company, overseeing end-to-end technical responsibilities over a product line organization of 31 with 7 teams, consisting of data analysts, data scientists, machine learning engineers, data engineers, backend software engineers and web application developers working with services and tools developed in Scala, Python, PHP and JavaScript. • Established and evangelized the company’s software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes accommodating data and software teams to deliver across small autonomous teams. • Set up the customer success operations for the product linse, with a detailed service desk and incident response policies, an internal SLA and customer-facing knowledge base. This led to an 82% reduction in the time taken to resolve user-reported bugs across all priority levels. • Coordinated with the product management team members and real-estate appraisal experts to deliver a 2 hour self-study and 3 day live session workshop to raise domain knowledge around the US appraisal business domain relevant to business needs. • Oversaw the migration to our data warehouse in Redshift, migrating our 121 data pipelines from 36 data sources to generate 17 end-user datamarts over 4 months with zero-downtime. • Aligned with our Engineering Managers to establish standardized processes around quality assurance for both software and data. Led the growth of the in-house engineering capacity from 7 engineers to 34 engineers. In charge of 6 agile software development teams consisting of both in-house and third-party engineers to deliver on a wide variety of technology services developed in Java, Go, Node.js, React.js, Kotlin, Python, Swift and PHP. • Involved in identifying and recruiting candidates, developing and enhancing the company’s engineering culture both internally and within the tech community, and in reviewing and promoting engineers. • Coordinated with third-party providers to migrate deployments from PlusServer to Google Cloud Platform in order to reduce hosting costs by orders of magnitude. • Organized and conducted 2 full-day workshops for the entire Technology department, consisting of 16 workshops/talks delivered by 17 members of staff, to better integrate Product and Engineering concerns. • Installed and mentored technical leadership/leads on frontend and backend to scale with ongoing growth. • Oversaw the ongoing insourcing and continuous knowledge transfer as the in-house engineering team takes over previously outsourced codebases. • Involvement in the establishment of the engineering culture borrowed from Spotify’s Engineering model of squads, tribes, chapters and guilds. Led an agile software development team of 6 engineers as the technical team lead in Hong Kong and the Philippines in an autonomous team to deliver features for the company’s signage product. • Involved in the development and maintenance of the company’s 2 main products in the IOT industry: Nixplay Frames and Nixplay Signage Frames backed by Express, Restify and Django APIs. • Developed marketing campaign feature for company’s Signage product, extending the custom-built websocket communication layer between the backend services and frames. • Built numerous AWS Lambda functions to extend Signage product features. • Introduced continuous integration for all of the company’s APIs with end-to-end API testing, documentation and monitoring using Postman. • Containerized all of the company's microservices for development and deployment using Docker with orchestration handled by AWS Elastic Container Service. Led an agile software development teams of 9 engineers, involving both frontend and backend capabilities, to maintain and extend the product as the Product Team Lead/Scrum Master in both a technical and disciplinary leadership position. • Involved in end-to-end development of a new product from the ground up, working in JavaScript to build the React.js frontend and distributed Express.js RESTful API, with DynamoDB and Aurora RDS MySQL database systems. • Introduced continuous integration and code coverage tools with Travis, Istanbul and Codecov, and created custom Docker containers to speed up testing execution. While enrolled in a Master’s program, conducted literary research and psychophysical experiments in the area of human perception and developed the experiment engines using one of C++/Python/MATLAB and OpenGL, depending on the complexity and requirements of the task. • Developed a general experiment engine in Python and OpenGL to create 3D vision experiments, with GUI interface for participant data collection.

Led an agile software development team of 4 engineers to meet milestone requirements extending the company’s real-time group-buying data collection infrastructure, handling an hourly volume of ~100,000 database entries. • Supervised and reviewed developments to the data collection system and deployed updates nightly. • Extended the Scrapy data collection system, adding a templating tool for crawler generation, quickening development time and accommodating for outsourcing. • Maintained and extended the Django-based crawler monitoring, client dashboard and RESTful API infrastructure through Python and PostgreSQL.
