Summary of Qualifications: Surgical Nursing: Dose calculations, administration of premedicants/induction medications, endotracheal/gastric intubation, maintenance of general anesthesia, patient monitoring (HR/RR, BP-doppler and oscillometric , ECG, SpO2, ETCO2), use of ventilator, surgical preparation, administration of continuous rate infusion medications, sterile surgical assisting, instrument cleaning/wrapping, post operative monitoring/care. Medical Nursing/Laboratory skills: Cephalic/saphenous/jugular vein blood collection, intravenous catheter placement, cystocentesis-ultrasound guided and catheter(male) urine collection, intravenous/intramuscular/subcutaneous injections, nasogastric tube placement, nasal oxygen line placement, examine urine/fecal specimens, ear cytologies, fine needle aspirates, impression smears, skin scrapes; perform pcv/ts, manual CBC differential, blood/plasma transfusions (including cross matching and blood typing), anal gland expression/infusion, use of glucometer and Heska DriChem, Hematrue, EPOC machines, provide nursing care for hospitalized patients, starting/helping with doctor appointments. Endoscopy: Set up/cleaning/sterilizing of different equipment, experience in assisting with upper/lower gastrointestinal endoscopy, bronchoscopy and cystoscopy. Radiology: Perform digital radiographs on various species, administer and perform barium study radiographs. Client Communication: Triaging emergency patients, checking in and discharging surgical/internal medicine patients, discussing internal/external parasites, dental disease prevention and teaching owner how to perform nail trims, clean and medicate ears, administer subcutaneous fluids, administer insulin/ subcutaneous injections, performing patient call-backs. Management/Computer skills: Proficient in using Infinity veterinary computer program, lead technician role-aided in training technical staff.
