Trade optimization and stock management • Monitor current trade; analyse weekly performance of brand by season, category and sub-category in order to initiate action to optimise sales; interpret current results in terms of future product buys and trends, as well as trading out of poor/ markdown stock. • Resolve delivery issues with suppliers; • Conduct relevant competitor analysis and store visits; Post Mortem & Seasonal Strategy • Compile and present to senior executives a post mortem based on trade reports, competitor analysis, supplier performance, actual product execution as well as marketing & trend post mortems; • Build a balanced assortment that is commercially viable, working in collaboration with the planner that will achieve the financial plan; formulate the merchandise strategy and articulate the key objectives for the season; • Compile and present to senior executives a seasonal strategy against the determined KPI’s; Assortment, Booking and Production • Based on strategy calls, confirm trends, source samples and present colour packs; • Build collaborative supplier relationships which facilitate effective briefing of new styles and price negotiations; as well as sample requirements for marketing; • Initiate assortment process and ensure the range is balanced according to seasonal strategic objectives; • Prepare for review, present range to senior executives • Align the booking process with production timelines and in-store deliveries; • Ensure the fit & pre-production sample process delivers the right quality for the right price, and is aligned with production process and timelines. • Confirm purchase orders and any amendments
