Established in 2005, Plunkett Associates has been at the forefront of the Rapid Prototyping industry. Plunkett Associates was created in 2005 to address the need for a reliable, impartial and knowledgeable resource through which manufacturing companies could source prototype and low volume production parts. Having already established two pioneering additive manufacturing companies, Plunkett's is a platform to utilise my years of experience and contacts across the globe to deliver a full complement of rapid prototyping (RP) technologies. From stereolithography (SLA) and selective laser sintering (SLS) to the more conventional CNC machining and tooling technologies, we have the ability to deliver quality prototype and production parts to aggressive timescales. In 2016, I set up another company called Adept Precision. Managed by Plunkett Associates, Adept Precision provides prototype machining services, prototype (aluminium) tooling and production tooling. With an integrated moulding capability, Adept can tool and mould allowing clients the option of a local, UK, fast track production resource that had previously been proving difficult to source. Adept has continued to grow and has proven to be an extremely attractive option for some of our clients! They can be confident their parts will be consistently of the same high quality they have learnt to expect from Plunkett’s, and in addition are UK manufactured and readily available. Having initially established Plunkett's as a predominantly outsourcing operation, there is little we cannot address. With multiple supplier options up our sleeve means we can significantly reduce client’s workload, and deal with every last detail of a product. Following Formation Limited's pioneering work to establish additive prototyping, 3T RPD provided the platform for developing Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) as the principal technology for producing functional parts. Multiple machines multiplied 3TRPD. In five years, 3T established itself as the leading Laser Sintering operation in the UK and pioneered technology development in a competitive market.

Formation Limited began with one SLA250 machine. Over time, it grew to encompass five machines, a comprehensive Vacuum Casting facility, a Foundry, and a Rapid Tooling facility for Low-Volume Production. It was the first successful Rapid Prototyping Bureau in the UK and played a significant role in establishing Stereolithography as a practical and effective technology for prototyping.
