The EDHEC Infrastructure Institute is a research centre focusing on the investment characteristics of privately-held equity and debt investments in infrastructure projects. It is developing specific asset pricing and risk measurement technologies for infrastructure investors and populating a global database of infrastructure project cash flows to create benchmarks for asset allocation and asset-liability management purposes. In this role I: • Lead the data collection for the first specialised unlisted infrastructure index. This involved setting the strategic direction of the team, recruitment and the ongoing development of a team of six analysts. • Develop relationships to allow for the collection of data from different investors/ data contributors. • Provided advise on valuation methodologies for both debt and equity investments in infrastructure. • Negotiate the quality, price and timeliness with data vendors for the provision of data. • Developed policies and procedures for the creation of the first infrastructure investment database for unlisted infrastructure. This involved solving intractable problems such as data availability. • Provided project management for several research projects on infrastructure investment. Involved setting project plan, regularly following up with fellow researchers to ensure the project progressed according to timelines. • Presented EDHECinfra’s research at multiple forums, including industry conventions, academic conferences and master classes on infrastructure investment. • Provided advice on infrastructure risks and returns to multiple agencies, including EIOPA. • Conducted research listed and unlisted infrastructure as an asset class.
