"We all need to make conscious and environmental choices to protect the wonderful nature on this planet, otherwise all we will be left with will be Slush and Gravel. We can do better than that." I started Slush and Gravel as a creative project to celebrate the joy that can be experienced in nature, especially the mountains. However as we have developed I have realised that the protection of this nature is just as important as the enjoyment of it, if not more so. So we started the Tees for Trees campaign: for every single item that you buy, we will plant a tree through the amazing tree planting charity One Tree Planted. Planting trees is one of the simplest and most effective things we can do to fight climate change. Trees also have many other fantastic knock on effects for nature and for us including cleaning the air we breathe, increasing the soil quality and reducing soil erosion as well as providing habitats for numerous animals and insects. One Tree Planted carefully pick the species and locations for their plantings around the world and work with local communities to ensure the trees mature successfully and so local people are involved and benefit from the projects. Built and updated websites for small businesses using wordpress, elementor, wix and many other digital tools. Design and creation of logos, brand guidelines and marketing material & messages for the companies to use going forward. Data analysis and tool building to help simplify and automate internal processes from recording workers hours & calculating pay & tax, to cost calculations for pricing and order & route optimisation for delivery drivers. Assisting a number of start-ups with their marketing strategy & early stage market analysis using social media & Facebook Ads. I have also assisted with managing companies’ data and creating automated reports. This included keyword and general market research using various tools. Creating the strategy and segmentation for the ads as well as designing the ads and ad copy for different demographics and groups. One targeted Christmas campaign reached over 150,000 people & drove 9,000 people to the site with a CPC of £0.02. This gave us great confidence in moving the idea forward and provided valuable insight into the most receptive user groups and brand messaging for future campaigns and general marketing strategy.
