Graduation project focussed on the industrial design of an autonomous waste disposal system utilizing the canal infrastructure of the inner city ring of Amsterdam. The Roboat project is an initiative from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) and Amsterdam Institute for Advanced Metropolitan Solutions (AMS Institute).
Citizens around the world are talking. Which public services work best, which are expensive, and which are most effective? But these voices often do not find their way to decision makers. SEMA is a social enterprise that gathers data through IoT rating-devices, IVR and in-person interviews. SEMA’s pilot, funded by D-prize and KMF, is testing ways of collecting feedback from citizens through both online and offline technologies at 10 public institutions in Kampala, Uganda. SEMA mostly focusses on the justice sector and is experimenting with how data can motivate governments to improve their services. In this role I am responsible for the development and deployment of new hardware devices supporting the feedback collection in Kampala, Uganda.
