During my time at Loewen, I focused on strengthening marketing and sales, worked to turn around the business, and participated in the process that resulted in the successful sale of the company. Led all business development functions for Black & Decker's global $3.2B DEWALT Industrial Products Group. Worked in conjunction with global business unit leaders resulting in a comprehensive global growth strategy, including organic development initiatives, acquisition strategies, and technology and trademark licensing. Led the commercial diligence process on acquisitions, including synergy evaluation and integration planning activities. Strategies resulted in the acquisition of over $1.2B in revenue, including the Pentair Tools Group (Porter-Cable, Delta, Excel brands) and Powers Fasteners. Led groups' Brand Licensing activities securing contracts valued at $100M in annual licensed retail sales with industry partners.
Led marketing groups responsible for the industrial, hardware, farm, and automotive channels generating over $550 million in revenue. Managed channel marketing team with 7 direct and 15 indirect reports responsible for providing marketing programs and strategic commercial direction to an Industrial Channel sales force of 250 people. Developed annual business plans, negotiated programs with key distribution partners, and successfully achieved sales and profitability targets for the corporation.
Responsible for formulating and executing a strategy for the emerging Internet Channel of distribution with customers including Home Depot, Lowe's, Wal-Mart, Amazon, and Grainger. Developed branding strategy that resulted in the number one brand position on leading e-commerce sites and over $50M in revenues. Established the power tool industry's first Internet Retail Policy resulting in the ability to maintain control of an evolving distribution channel and avoid conflicts with traditional distributors Led a cross-functional team of technology and marketing representatives to launch DEWALT branded website. Responsible for all online branding strategies and marketing programs for the DEWALT brand and established brand guidelines for global business units. The website achieved the highest ROI of any end-user program in company history.
