Implemented changes to ensure that Lowe's was not constrained on item number availability as the company expanded into new markets. Implemented EAN-13 barcode standard for Lowe's. Led the development of a new merchandising vendor management capability for Lowe's.
Led a transformation of the legacy “Help Desk” into a high-performing IT Support Center. Turned around customer satisfaction scores. Implemented new contact center technology and a new Remedy ITSM application. Negotiated a new multivendor break/fix contract for the stores, saving over $8M OPEX in the first year.
Managed application development projects. Assisted with development of IT Strategy working with CIO staff. Managed financial and cost containment projects on behalf of the CIO. Led the project team who implemented enterprise-wide e-mail at Lowe's.
Worked with project teams to develop custom and packaged business applications for Merchandising and Supply Chain. Served as Team Leader for electronic data interchange (EDI) team. Was Business Analyst on upgrade project for GENTRAN 5.0 EDI translator software. In 1995, Lowe's became the first retailer in the hardlines industry to implement EDI with 1,000 trading partners. Was assigned to a cross-functional team to redesign the business processes across Merchandising and Logistics resulting in the reorganization of these groups. Was responsible for systems enhancements to support this reorganization.
Sara Lee Direct Information Systems - Winston-Salem, NC. Sara Lee Direct later became Hanesbrands, Inc. Held Programmer, Programmer/Analyst, Senior Programmer/Analyst, and Systems Analyst positions. Developed COBOL, CICS, and DB2 applications in an IBM Mainframe environment. Implemented EDI translation software and integrated EDI into the supply chain and financial applications.
Served on warships deployed to the Mediterranean, the Persian Gulf, and the Indian Ocean.
