Responsible for building a global brand seamless inventory operating model and technology platform to deploy in each global brand. The objective of Seamless Inventory was to significantly reduce stranded inventory and improve margin for each of our Global Brands by leveraging advanced analytics to better plan, buy, allocate, replenish, and price product across all markets and channels. This initiative is leveraging advanced analytics technologies, and a custom built engine for optimal inventory movement and pricing decisions.
Responsible for Gap Inc.’s global technology organization and operations. Key responsibilities included: • Building and deploying a global retail technology, process, and data platform to support the companies aggressive global growth strategies. • Rebuilding an IT leadership team that could effectively work with business leaders to support growth strategies as well as build the technology strategies necessary to evolve to an global omni-channel retailer. • Transforming the IT organization from an outsourced and managed services model to an agile delivery, high customer service, and operationally sound retail technology organization • Bringing IT costs in alignment with industry standards • Building out a product management capability across the enterprise to prioritize capital investments on business value delivered • Bringing together two separate IT organizations, online and corporate, into one IT global enterprise IT organization • Building an infrastructure and operations organization that could unlock costs and speed by migrating to open technologies and away from proprietary technologies. • Building out an Information Security organization that is integrated with the IT organization and with relevant business partners. - Managed $400m-$500m of annual IT spend.
My primary responsibilities at L Brands were in two areas: 1. 2006-2009. Responsible for LBrands Technology Services, a global organization that provided technology strategy, support and services to all Limited Brands entities and sales channels. Services include application support, technical infrastructure support (data centers, hardware, networks, desktop, telecom), help desk, security, compliance, and program management. Managed $300m-$400m of annual IT spend. 2. 2004 – 2009. Responsible for a five year transformational program to build a new business and technology operating model to support the LBrands growth strategy. The business premise was moving from a “push” model, to “pull” model. The program had a heavy focus on standardization of technology, process, and data utilizing SAP, JDA, Manugistics, Optiva, PTC, Hyperion, Teradata. Additionally, the program focused on process optimization (finance, merchandise planning, product life cycle management, demand chain, production and sourcing, supplier collaboration, customer marketing, enterprise data warehouse, IT processes) across all of LBI entities.
Focused on consumer products and retail, primarily focused on large business transformation and ERP implementations. I spent 6 years (1995-2001) working within the Coca-Cola system in Europe and North America living in Copenhagen from 1998-2001. My last 2 years of consulting were spent with Limited Brands (L Brands) on an HR transformation and developing an operating model strategy that led to me joining the company.
