Tom Verrilli's past jobs
I lead the Engineering, Applied Science and Product teams (Growth, Discovery, Search, Recommendations)responsible for connecting 100s of million viewers to millions of live streamers in real time. We're on the edge of the internet's discovery challenges: How would you build a search engine if the NY Times was only available 33% of the time? How would you recommend viewers great content, knowing the show might end in 30 seconds, or continue for 8 more hours? How do you append the right metadata to millions of UGC livestreams, in real time? What does a notifications stack need to look like to allow 10s of millions of individual content creators to reach their community, without any one viewer getting something they don't want? Know the answer to any of that? Curious to know how we're doing it? Interested to get involved? We're always hiring: https://www.twitch.tv/jobs/

Phorm was an ambitious attempt to help telcos get in on the personalized, targeted ad space. We didn't get the tech right, we misjudged the risk tolerance of telcos, we didn't build the right team. But the idea was both good and ahead of its time ;)
