The project involves creating a single application to offer all products to its online customers. Bank of America has currently disparate applications for different products. The project also aimed towards moving to a new technology from the existing CFM applications to the new J2EE technology. The phase 1.0 of the project looked to get the online Identity and credit decisions and scoped for Deposits products only. The application was brought live in November, 2008 and future phases are planned to bring in other products. The application goal was to move to new technology, extend business value by getting online decisions and using the data collected for the customer to offer multiple products, thus providing a shopping cart experience for Bank of America products. The project was executed in an iterative methodology to meet the stringent timelines. The RTAP (Real Time Transaction Analysis And Pricing) was developed to provide relief from the issues experienced by the legacy Wire System (and the supporting infrastructure) by replacing it with an extensible "Transactional," product-independent system that sets the stage for future growth, and allows for seamless integration between the various business units within Sigue.
