Since retirement from Thales Nederland, December 20, 2011. I have had quite some time to spend on reading, studying and travelling. Of course that magic world of Defense and Radar has still attracted me. I have become involved in the financial and political issues of retirement funds. Have become member of the VVSPTN, society of retired Thales Netherlands employees. Objective to safeguard interests of retired employees vs the SPTN (paying our retirement money) and Dutch politics. Have in the meantime read and studied various books about Dutch and European history. Experienced that history is more than a collection of "simple" facts but can learn you much about national relations. In fact that European history (and most likely its future) was/is not a logical proces but the result of many events. That study still continues! I am also a member of the Dutch Protestant Church (PKN) and have been, together with my wife, singing in the Cantory of the Ontmoetingskerk in Enschede, already since 1982. Theology is also an area of interest, in particular referring to the Jewish/Hebrew roots of the Protestant Religion. Since a few years I am also strongly interested in the dispute on climate issues. I honestly feel that the approach of mr Popper on falsifiability of scientific theories, seems to be neglected in the climate disputes.
