My research interest was focused on cardioprotection in the settings of ischemia-reperfusion injury, post-MI cardiac remodeling, and diabetic cardiomyopathy. Several important signaling molecules such as PTEN and IL-10 have been shown to mediate critical roles in cardioprotection in my laboratory using knockout mice and cardiac disease models.
