Responsible for day-to-day procurement of all electronic commodities, such as populated printed circuit boards, cable harnesses, battery packs, switch assemblies, and tracking products. Determines procurement strategy for these commodities, which may include identifying potential new suppliers and undertaking both Quality and Financial audits. With existing suppliers, build and maintain relationships with an aim to consistently achieving targets for supplier performance. Developing Risk Assessments to identify areas of weakness in the supply chain, such as single source suppliers. Use this to feed into the overall supplier strategy and drive finding resolutions to these weaknesses, and mitigate risk. Work with R&D teams to source new technologies to incorporate into products, to ensure that our products meet customer demands and remain cutting edge in our marketplace, but also manage obsolete components and last time buys to ensure continuity of supply.
